Getting a show program
The program is now available on this website and on the Horse Deals’ website (see below for how to access it from Horse Deals). If you are only interested in some events, just print the pages you need.
You can also obtain the program by contacting Christine Hastings by email email@example.com or mobile phone 0400 268 737 or the Horse Secretary, Joyce Williams on phone 03 5345 7436. Hard copies are generally available from the Creswick Australia Post Office, the Creswick Visitors Information Centre and Davies & Rose Rural & Hardware, Creswick. Hard copies are also available in Ballarat from PETstock, Saddleworld and Horseland.
Events and entertainment
The program contains details of horse and non-horse events as well as the entertainment activities. Even if you usually enter the horse events why not put an entry in the photography and flower/garden produce competitions AND bring along your pet for the Pet Show! Please note that the entries for the photography must be in by 5pm Tuesday 26 November and cannot be entered on show day (an earlier version of the show program contained incorrect information). See the program on this website and the updated one on Horse Deals for details.
This year we will have our usual variety of entertainment and as well a puppet theatre, a ‘zoo’ of Australian wildlife with educational talks, pigeons and a display of ‘Pigeons at War’ (did you know that pigeons have received the equivalent of the Victoria Cross?). Also look out for what the Young Farmers are organising!!!
We are also ‘bringing back’ the grand parade but not just of horses. After the horse events finish (about 3 pm) ALL participants are invited to parade along with the classic cars. To encourage participants and car drivers to enter the grand parade there will be a $50 prize for a lucky participant. Each entrant in the grand parade will be given a ticket on entry to the parade and a ticket will be drawn from ‘the bucket’ with someone winning the $50.
At the same time as the grand parade is in full swing live music will commence provided by The Decades. Even if you don’t come for the show events come for the music and BBQ tea!!! The BBQ is free for those have volunteered their time to make the show a success and for sponsors. The live music and BBQ will wind up around 6:30/7.00 pm.
As usual, we have three rings for hacks, galloways and ponies – three chances to compete and win! There are breed classes for Arabians, Walers, Shetlands, Miniature Ponies, Australian Ponies, Welsh Ponies and Cobs, Mountain and Moorland Breeds, Riding Ponies and Standardbreds! There are classes for harness horses, newcomers and pony club riders.
The program contains the waiver and entry forms for horse events (pull out from the middle of the program or print those pages). Pre-paid entries are cheaper for horse events but you can also enter on the day.
If you have any queries please contact Christine Hastings on 0400 268 737 and for horse events Joyce Williams on 03 5345 7436.
BRING THE FAMILY AND COME AND ENJOY THE SHOW AND LIVE MUSIC!!!!
